Second Star to the Right

Recalling childhood
I see faces I haven't seen in years.

None of them mine.
None of them know me.

But their lives, I was more familiar with
than my own.

One had a horse with wings.
One had a pet that can talk.

I asked myself,
if I stop changing my clothes
like they do, will things stay
the same?
